Reassurrance

As I look around and see other people's kids (not other twins, though they certainly are doing this as well) doing so much more than Em and Liv, I can't help but wonder if it is because I'm not giving my girls enough attention. I try very hard to make sure I'm teaching them everday how to do things, but I wonder if because I'm having to do things for two, instead of one, that it is more difficult. Surely, it has to be easier to work one on one, than one on two (or more) right?

Please tell me that Em and Liv will catch up. Please tell me that they'll start walking and talking. Please!!!

Don't fret, my pet! ;-) Every child develops differently, and the girls will do things in their own time. Developmental guidelines are just that - guidelines. (Keep to the code! :P) I don't think it's time to worry yet! It wouldn't hurt to ask your doctor, but if he or she says not to worry, then take that to heart!!

They are doing fine! If you are really worried though I would recommend checking out the First Words program through FSU. They do evaluations with the kids (I'm taking the girls just to double check)and the if they notice any problems then they will give them free therapy. http://firstwords.fsu.edu/ They are really great and have heard wonderful success stories with them.

They do. And then you'll be sad about how quickly time has gone by.
